International Women’s Day is celebrated around the world today, honouring the remarkable achievements and spirit of women worldwide. This day holds significance for several reasons:

  • It serves as a joyous occasion to celebrate the countless accomplishments of women from all walks of life.

  • An invaluable opportunity to understand and discuss the fundamental principle of gender equality.

In the spirit of this special day, let’s draw inspiration from some of the incredible women within our Tingdene family:

Kizzy Saunders, our General Manager at Waveney River Centre, is one of the many wonderful women working at the Tingdene Group, who kindly shared the following message:

“My view on International Women’s Day is that it is an opportunity to appreciate and shine a spotlight on all women doing amazing work within their field. It is also a personal reminder to me, that with the continued recognition and support from the Tingdene Group over the years, I have been able to achieve things (personally and professionally) that I never thought were possible. I want my success story to empower young women to be who they want to be and to be supported in the choices that they make. I really appreciate that our company are forward thinking and recognise the importance of this holiday. It is only by raising awareness of inequality that we can make a positive change for the young women of our future.”

Kim Allen, our Boat Sales Manager, also shares her valuable insights:

“The marine industry has long been associated with strength, resilience, and adventure. In a traditionally male-dominated industry, women are increasingly making their mark by bringing fresh perspectives, innovative ideas, and strong business acumen to the forefront of the industry. Tingdene Marinas & Boat Sales is an advocate for challenging stereotypes and breaking barriers in the marine industry. I began my journey with Tingdene in 2019 starting as a Boat Sales Executive, and with the support, mentorship, and empowerment of my colleagues, I have worked my way to be part of the Senior Leadership Team. I am proud to represent Tingdene as a woman, be part of the leadership team and continue to break stereotypes and navigate challenges to create a more diverse, inclusive, and equitable marine industry.”

Let’s celebrate the spirit of empowerment and resilience that defines International Women’s Day.

Here’s to honouring the past, embracing the present, and shaping a future where every woman is valued, heard, and empowered.
