Some losses change our lives forever. For children who lose a parent or sibling, grief can be overwhelming, leaving them lost, uncertain, and struggling to find hope. Grief Encounter is there to help them navigate this journey, offering support, guidance, and a way forward when the unimaginable happens.

Every year, 46,000 families in the UK face the death of a parent or sibling—that’s one child in every classroom experiencing profound loss. Grief Encounter asks for nothing in return for their help, relying entirely on donations to continue their vital work.

Join Us in Making a Difference

We invite you to take part in the Forget Me Not Charity Walk on Sunday, 6th April at 10:30 AM in Lowick, Northamptonshire—a walk not about the challenge, but about coming together, remembering, and supporting families who need it most.

As most will be aware, our founder Matthew Gibbard passed away suddenly in 2019 leaving Suzanne without her husband, and his children, Stefan, Natasha, Ethan and Oliver without their father. This impact was life changing but thanks to Grief Encounter, they provided an amazing amount of support as they do for thousands of families across the country.

This is the difference Grief Encounter makes. And you can be part of that change.

Starting Point: Germaine Rooms, 1 Drayton Road, Lowick, NN14 3BH

  • Fuel for the Journey: Enjoy sausage baps and other treats to keep you going.

  • A Special Touch: Every walker will receive a Forget Me Not flower as a token of remembrance.

  • Post-Walk Gathering: After the walk, those who wish can unwind with a drink at The Snooty Fox Bar & Restaurant in Lowick.

Tingdene Group Will Match Donations

To amplify our impact, Tingdene Group will match all donations—up to a total of £10,000. Your contribution can go twice as far in supporting bereaved children and young people.

We’d love to see as many of you there as possible. Let’s walk, remember, and make a difference together.

See you on the 6th of April!
